Summary

Are you starting a partnership or have an existing partnership and want to measure the results of your combined efforts? A collaborative partnership is about having a common goal around better serving the ever-changing needs of your community and measuring outcomes can help you and your partner identify better ways to align your work to deliver more impactful community-based services. This webinar will focus on how to plan for collaborative outcome measurement with a partner, with a focus on partnerships between libraries and schools to stop the summer slide. Participants will hear from a library guest about their experience with collaborative partnerships and will have the opportunity to ask questions and share their own experiences.

This webinar is the first in a series featuring Project Outcome’s Outcome Measurement Guidelines, designed to help guide and provide additional support for outcome-focused data collection. Future topics to be covered include developing outcome measures, implementing alternative data collection methods and measuring outcomes over time. The Public Library Association’s (PLA) Project Outcome is a free online toolkit designed to help public libraries understand and share the impact of their programs and services by providing simple surveys and an easy-to-use process for measuring and analyzing outcomes.

Learning Outcomes

At the conclusion of this webinar, participants will:

  • Understand what Project Outcome’s Outcome Measurement Guidelines are and how they help support libraries’ data collection efforts;
  • Know the benefits of collaborative partnerships and how other libraries are achieving success; and
  • Be able to apply the process for planning collaborative outcome measurement, including setting outcome-based goals, identifying which outcomes will best measure success and setting expectations for how the data will be used.
