May 18, 2017 Online 01:00 PM

Central Time

Summary

The Public Library Association’s Project Outcome is a free service designed to help public libraries understand and share the impact of their programs and services by providing simple, patron surveys and an easy-to-use process for measuring and analyzing outcomes. Libraries can use the collected outcome data to evaluate programming, inform internal and external decision-making, support strategic planning, and more. This webinar is designed to introduce consultants to the Project Outcome framework to better inform their public library work. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions and share their own experiences.

Learning Outcomes

At the conclusion of this webinar, participants will:

  • Understand what is included in the Project Outcome framework and how the toolkit can be used to support outcome measurement in public libraries;
  • Know how to anticipate and respond to libraries’ questions and concerns about Project Outcome; and
  • Be able to confidently communicate about Project Outcome and make informed recommendations for its use.

Who Should Attend

This webinar is open to library consultants or other non-public library groups interested in learning about Project Outcome for consulting or instructional purposes. The Project Outcome tools are only available to U.S. and Canadian public and state library staff, but anyone can sign up and access the free resources at www.projectoutcome.org.

NOTE: This webinar is not a substitute for the Project Outcome Regional Training, a full-day workshop provided to public library staff by PLA. Attendance at this webinar does not entitle participants to develop or deliver dedicated Project Outcome training. Rather, it is designed to provide an overview and talking points for discussing Project Outcome in conjunction with other trainings, programs, and services provided by webinar participants.
